Super Saturday

I started the day with an early alarm. I will be teaching Saturday School for the next couple of months. I need the extra cash, and I absolutely love teaching a small group of at-risk kids. In a regular classroom, they disappear; but at Saturday School they Shine!! I love the way SS builds their confidence. I can also do exciting activities with them that you can't do with a large group. Today we read the story of the Three Little Pigs. Each kid portrayed one of the pigs inside the straw house, stick house, or brick house. Then another child was the wolf! He went to each "pig" and said, "LITTLE PIG, LITTLE PIG, LET ME COME IN!" I taught them how to use their "wolf voice." Then the "pigs" said, "not by the hair on my chinny, chin, chin." I taught them how to use their "little pig voice." Then the wolf would huff and puff and the "little pigs" would all fall down, except for the "brick house pig". Then all the children would roll on the floor with laughter. I am teaching them how to retell a story, and they are having a blast!
Then I came home and started the mundane chores. Laundry. Grocery shopping. I think I will fix myself a cup of tea now, and read, and perhaps take a little nap. Jordan is gone to the movies with friends. Later when he gets home, we will be taking down Christmas. I always love putting up Christmas, but taking down is not so much fun. I told Jordan we could reward ourselves with a movie and order in Chinese!
Jordan has a goal of watching the Top 50 Western Films ever made. Since we are members of Netflix, it is easy to order them. Tonight we will watch Beguiled with Clint Eastwood. I'll let you know if it is any good.
