Saturday, March 7, 2009, Jordan attended his first Prom. It was quite the experience getting him dressed in a tux. My boy is a casual boy. He mostly wears shorts and t-shirts. To church, he wears jeans and pull-over Polo shirts. So when he had to sport a coat, collared button up shirt and tie!!!; he complained a bit. But WOW, doesn't he clean up nice!!
His date was Amanda. Jordan and Amanda are good friends from school and church. She is a senior and Jordan is a junior. Amanda went with us to pick out the tux. She wanted it to match her beautiful pink dress. Jordan was a good sport. I told him his dad wore pink to his prom 26 years ago. They made a lovely couple.
Saturday was a beautiful day. Jordan and I got up early and went to the train station and rode the Trinity Railway Express (TRE) down to Union Station in downtown Dallas. Then we hopped on the Blue Line and rode it up to Garland. We picked up Jordan's friend Jamie and headed to the West End for lunch. We had a wonderful lunch on the roof-top patio of Gators. 
Then we hopped on the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) and went up to St. Paul Street. We hopped off there and walked several block to the Dallas Museum of Art.
We had an absolutely wonderful time viewing all the different art displays.
We will have to go another time to view the King Tut exhibit. It was way to crowded.
After a nice refreshing drink at a local pizza parlor, we hopped on DART again and headed for Union Station. We cut it pretty close! We had to run to catch the TRE back to Ft. Worth! It was a beautiful day and we all had a great time hanging out together. 
Jordan getting ready for the Boxer Run! Our youth have a tradition called the Boxer Run. The last run of the trip, everyone gets in their boxers and skis down the mountain. The kids love it!!
